The Mueller Report
Selected Text and Conclusions
From the CA23RD Democratic Club
A new page has been added, Section B, Michael Flynn
This is written for the California 23rd Democratic Club. The goal is to present and comment on some of the more important passages of the report. We will be reading selected sections and adding some a web page for each section along with my commentary.
Few people want to read the entire report. In particular it appears that too many elected Democrats in Congress have not read it. We have little desire to sit and read the entire thing. The purpose here is work our way through parts of it, identify passages of significant note, and post those conclusions. We will certainly end up reading more than we expect.
As we work our way through the report more pages will be added and linked from here. Please visit this site again in the future.
This is about the Mueller Report so section headers tend to refer to something in the report rather than my opinion. None of the files I could find were plain text. The result is that copying phrases often results in having to re-type material. There will be some typos on my part. Footnotes must be reformatted by hand, are from the original, and not expanded here.
Each reader is invited to analyze some section of the report, write up what you think, and send your opinions to the club president at the email below.
We look forward to hearing from you.
This research on the Mueller report begins with Volume II. The title of Volume II is not instructive:
Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election.
Back in Volume I, page 3 is this description of Volume II:
Volume II addresses the President's actions towards the FBI's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election and related matters, and his actions towards the Special Counsel' s investigation. Volume II separately states its framework and the considerations that guided that investigation.
The introduction to Volume II is mostly legalese with but one sentence that appears to describe its purpose. From page 1:
Beginning in 2017, the President of the United States took a variety of actions towards the ongoing FBI investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election and related matters that raised questions about whether he had obstructed justice.
The goal of these web pages is to extract out the nuggets of Volume 1.
This appears to be the main theme of Volume II therefore the first page is a description of what constitutes Obstruction of Justice. Before reading about possible instances of the crime of Obstruction of Justice, it is quite important to develop a shared concept of the term. A link to that page is here:
www.ca23rd.org/mueller/vol2_obstruction.htm
It presents a few definitions and a summary of the phrase. Note, this summary is written by a non-lawyer. If you prefer to see addition verbiage on this topic please write it up and send to the club president.
We are all fully aware of how often and how vehemently 45 announces to the world that he has been exonerated, and specifically by the Mueller report. The word exoneration is in the report 4 times. One of them is a quote from 45. In each and every one of the other three occurrences the report clearly states that 45 is not exonerated. Each instance of exoneration is presented here:

Volume II, Section A: The Campaign Response
The full title of this section is:
The Campaign's Response to Reports About Russian Support for Trump
The report is clear that the Trump Campaign went to lengths to hide their relationship with Russia, to deny that there was Russian interference, and to outright lie to the media and to the public. This behavior amounts to Obstruction of Justice.
The write up on section A is here:

This individual has a full time job working with computers and after a day at work chooses to be a bit reluctant to spend much more time at home in front of another computer. I will write more as I can.
Again, your input is solicited.
